Normally we don’t post about rumors and we can’t
guaranty this is the truth but a respectable
Chinese website like Replays.net doesn’t just
write about this with zero knowledge. Especially
since the location is also in China.

where they'll abuse and kill their own in order to
look good, like the olypmics. "Great"

Nice with only 30 minutes from the airport to the

#9, you shouldnt talk about matters which you have
no idea about. are you chinese ? china is a great
country and just because we dont have a democratic
based government system, everyone just bashes on
us like no other. so what if we're communist? so
what if we have high amounts of poverty? our
country is has over 50% of the population on earth
within our borders, and that's no easy task to
take care of each and every citizen. you may think
some of our ways are "corrupt" but to
the chinese, that's our lifestyle, and there's
nothing wrong with what we do. chinese culture has
been alive for 3000+ years, that's more than ANY
of you bashing on china can say about your own.
but even though our conditions were poor at one
time, china is now internationally recognized as
the next super power, i wonder if your comments
will still be the same when that happens.

"our country is has over 50% of the
population on earth within our borders,"
1 200 000 000 --> population of China
6 500 000 000 --> population of the world
simple maths.
And as to Tibet Im not an expert, but the whole
thing is dirty so I would wait a couple of years
before awarding China such a prestigious event.
and my humble opinion: democracy sucks but
communism even more.

No I don't but you are using extremes to back an
opinion. What I do believe is the right as a human
being to believe in whatever religion I want. The
incidents in Tibet are already working so badly
against China (combined with the facts that people
have been kicked out of their houses to make way
for the Olympics etc etc).

a land this big and with such a huge population
consisting of many different ethnic groups can
only be held together that way. china is not ready
for democracy i guess. its a pity yeah, but it
shouldnt be the answer to boycot any event over
there due to political reasons i think.
if they let tibet go others will follow. its hard
and dirty imo as well. same thing with taiwan...
maybe these events do something good in many
years.
once esport is bigger, the community might reach
chinese ppl with their concerns i guess:P

Guys keep these comments about WCG not about the
political situation in china. if you wanna talk
about that then i suggest making a forum thread
thats a much more constructive way to do it.
Great news Jasper!

I am glad you didnt call me a brainwashed id**t
right way, then lets talk.
First of all, I am not using an extreme analogy.
In fact, Tibet was worse than that. Did you know
that:
a) Theocracy was the way it was in Tibet before
1956 when British colonized this miserable land.
On top of that, slavery was legal and many monks
were slave-owners;
b) The great lamas were considered holy gods,
whose crap was even taken as precious medicine to
cure any disease;
c) Human heads/skins were constantly used for some
religious rituals.
There are many more to be listed but i will stop
here and ask "Was dark age in Europe better
than this or worse? "
Second, I agree with you that people should enjoy
the freedom to practice their own religion.
However, the ultimate question remains "to
what extent?"
a) there are many anti-gay, anti-Jewish people. do
you think they should enjoy absolute freedom that
government can never interfere their beliefs?
b) If you didnt know, 10% Tibetans are monks. many
of them receive salaries from Chinese government.
I believe Tibetans have their religious freedom to
some certain extent, as people in other provinces
in China, as people in western world.
Finally, I agree that chinese government is used
to harsh way of doing things. Like killing those
pilgrims (this is a controversial title for them,
cauz they are national traitors too) on mountain
everest. Chinese government should learn to rule
with more human touch.
What happened in Tibet is very complicated. It may
not be wise for anyone to express opinions when
his knowledge is very limited. I hope we have a
neutral and mutual understanding here.
ps.Jasper, sry, I have to write this and I will
end this argument here.

#35, very good points. By the way, I just want to
add that Tibetan monks drink and have sex, both
acts supposedly forbidden by the teachings of
Buddhism. It's just funny how these people own
slaves, drink, have sex, and now cry about the
suppression of a religion they disgrace?

The Tibet in 1949 wasnt the country with that
peace loving gouverment of the dalai lama as some
want to see it. But what the chines invaders did
to the people of tibet is a crime.
After the nivasion they systematically tried to
destroy a whole culture, tortured nuns and monks
and destroyed monasteries.
There were nuns raped in public to break there
vow, many others where deported to "work
camps", which was just another way to kill
them.
It is true that the way China is ruling in tibet
has changed alot since then, but still the main
goal of chinas politc there is to destroy a
culture which has ben developed over hundred of
years.
